Beauty Without Measure

30 x 40 inches
Original mixed media and oil on gallery wrapped canvas
Wired and ready to hang

This painting began as an act of honesty and kindness.

I chose this subject because her body felt familiar to me. I’ve always found it easy to see beauty in other women, regardless of size, yet much harder to extend that same grace toward myself. While I know that weight does not define beauty or health, I found myself wrestling with expectations I would never place on anyone else.

Rather than turning away from that tension, I stepped toward it. Standing in front of a blank canvas, I chose to paint beauty in my size. Not as a statement, but as a quiet, compassionate acknowledgment of truth. Even though she and I do not look exactly the same, we share something real. Our bodies do not dictate our worth.

Beauty Without Measure is an invitation to soften the inner dialogue and to see ourselves with the same generosity we offer others. It is a reminder that beauty cannot be contained within a box we made too small for it to fit in, because we are expansive beings, and our beauty knows no limits.
